Field Operations Supervisor – Low Voltage Systems

We are a growing low voltage systems company based in Frederick, MD, specializing in the design, installation, and service of security, access control, networking, and AV systems. Our team prides itself on high‑quality work, professionalism, and teamwork. We’re seeking a Field Operations Supervisor to lead and support our team of technicians, ensuring that every project is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.

Position Overview

The Field Operations Supervisor oversees all field activities, providing leadership, technical guidance, and coordination for our team of low voltage technicians. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in line with company quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate is an experienced field professional who enjoys leading others, solving problems, and maintaining organization in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of field technicians, including scheduling, job assignments, and performance management.
  • Supervise and support field technicians during installations, service calls, and inspections.
  • Monitor progress of ongoing jobs and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Coordinate with project managers to align manpower and materials for each job.
  • Resolve field issues, monitor project progress, and communicate updates to office and project management teams.
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, and vendors to confirm appointments and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Train and mentor new technicians to promote skill development and consistency.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of labor hours, materials used, and job completion details.
  • Serve as a liaison between field staff, office personnel, and clients to maintain smooth communication.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Field Coordinator to improve efficiency and workflow.
  • Support purchasing, materials tracking, and inventory management as needed.
  • Participate in hiring, evaluations, and performance feedback for field staff.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience in low voltage systems (security, access control, networking, AV, or related fields).
  • Prior experience supervising or leading a field crew.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of tools, materials, and installation techniques for low voltage systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and project plans.
  • Proficiency in scheduling or project management tools (e.g., FieldHub).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  • OSHA 10/30 or similar safety certification preferred.
