Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions seeks a Superintendent in Houston, TX to lead field operations and coordinate between Sales, Operations and customers. You will oversee rigging, crating and installation crews, manage schedules and budgets, and drive safety and quality on multiple projects.

Qualifications

• HS diploma with continuing education in Business, Project or Construction Management or related degree a plus.
• Minimum ten (10) years proven operations management experience or comparable field preferably within the construction, manufacturing or rigging industry.
• Excellent interpersonal, management, supervisory and project management skills.
• Highly self-directed and motivated.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Applications.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

• Attend status and scheduling meetings with customers and address concerns.
• Perform site visits to gather information for quotes and coordinate with Sales Admin.
• Plan and implement schedules for rigging crews per customer direction.
• Collaborate with Operations Manager to meet goals for volume, cost, quality, safety and schedule.
• Assist in hiring, coaching, training and performance of rigging/installation crews.
• Develop and instruct crews in safety best practices and procedures.
• Coordinate safety training and investigations with safety personnel.
• Foster a strong safety culture and professional conduct on site.
• Manage project information and costs, and ensure plans meet contract specs.
• Participate in asset equipment selection and procurement where needed.
• Provide work direction to team members and coordinate with contractors/designers/owners.
• Prepare status reports and ensure plans adhere to contract specifications.
• Support regional leadership in job walks and customer bids/estimates.
• Develop professional and technical knowledge through workshops and networking.
• Stay informed about industry and market trends.
• Review plans and questions about scope/timing and monitor progress.
