Job summary

Donnelly- is seeking a Field Operations Specialist for a heavily onsite role in NYC. The position requires travel to Queens and other NYC sites, with a 35-hour work week and no remote work. You will support IT equipment, UPS/PDU systems, and network gear across multiple facilities.

Candidates should have 5+ years of field operations experience in IT, including MDF/IDF environments, Windows Server, VMware, Cisco, and vendor coordination. Travel between 37 client sites is expected.

Qualifications

• 5 years proven Field Operations experience in IT environments.
• Experience managing MDF/IDF tech rooms and inventory.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Servers, VMware, Cisco networking, Wi‑Fi and VOIP.
• Vendor coordination and multi-site project support.
• Ability to travel between NYC client sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Validate daily operations of IT equipment in offices across the boroughs.
• Rack, stack, install, configure UPS and PDU for hardware.
• Coordinate with vendors and other infrastructure groups for replacements.
• Patch wiring and assist with decommissioning and refresh projects.

Our Government Client in Downtown, NYC is looking for a Field Operations Specialist who can travel to their QUEENS NY location. This is a 12+month ONSITE role.

Shift: Normal Business Days/Hours: Monday - Friday (9:00am - 5:00pm includes one-hour unpaid lunch) - 35 hours work week.

This is a fully (100%) onsite position.

• The candidate specific duties will include: Validate Daily Operations Of the Equipment installed in the IT Operations Rooms in offices located across the assigned Borough Install, Connect and Configure Backup Power Supplies (UPS) and Power Distribution Units (PDU) to connect Hardware Equipment Maintain an updated inventory Of all Hardware Equipment Installed in the IT Operations Rooms in offices located across the assigned Borough Maintain clean and organized the IT Operations Rooms in offices located across the assigned Borough Act as a Point of Contact with Vendors for all Hardware Equipment Installed in the IT Operations Rooms in offices located across the assigned Borough for equipment deliveries and equipment replacement Work in conjunction with other Infrastructure groups to identify and resolve any issues affecting the Hardware Equipment installed in the IT Operations Rooms in offices located across the assigned Borough Perform Hardware Equipment Replacement for failed components in coordination with Client Infrastructure Groups and Product Vendors (Hard Disk, Power Supplies, RMAs) Rack and Stack Hardware Equipment (Servers, Switches, Routers, Hardware Appliances, Wireless Access Points) as required Perform Commissioning Of UPS, PDU, Environmental Monitoring Devices (Cooling, Humidity)
• Perform Network Patching (Connecting Patch Cords to Switches, Routers, Data Circuit CPE, Servers, Hardware Appliances) Completing Circuit Cutovers in coordination with NYC OTI and Client Infrastructure Network and Telecom Groups Urn-rack and remove retired hardware part Of Refresh Projects and follow the Decommission process in coordination with Directors of Infrastructure and Asset Management
• Preferably 5 years proven experience as Field Operations in Information Technology Experience in managing MDF and IDF technology rooms Experience working with various tools (e.% MS Office including Project, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Teams, PPM, SharePoint)
• Working knowledge Of IT Infrastructure - Windows Servers, VMware, Cisco Network Gears, Wi-Fi, VOIP, on prem Datacenter Center, Desktop, laptops, Smartphones, EPL Data circuits, UPS, PDU, Security surveillance systems Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to multitask and perform in a high-paced/high-pressure environment Ability to work independently or within a group to solve complex problems. Strong team player with service-oriented attitude and customer focus Vendor management skills Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 501bs
• Must be able to travel as needed between 37 Client sites in NYC 5 Boroughs including 24x7x365 sites Children's Center and 2 Secure Detention Center facilities
