Job summary

Florida Atlantic Ironworks is seeking a Field Operations Manager to lead field erection activities for structural steel and miscellaneous metals. You will direct field crews, oversee multi-site projects, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence across job sites.

The role requires 7+ years in steel erection, including 3+ years in field management, with OSHA 30 certification and a valid driver’s license. Travel to sites will be expected, and a strong safety culture is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive steel erection experience with at least 3 years in field management.
• Deep understanding and application of AISC, PCI, AWS, SDI, and SJI standards in erection, welding, decking, and joist installation.
• Strong knowledge of erection practices, rigging, crane operations, and site logistics.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, erection plans, and specifications.
• OSHA 30 certification required; additional certifications (rigging, signalperson, CPR/First Aid) preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct field superintendents, foremen, leadmen, and ironworker crews.
• Coordinate manpower to meet project demands and assign crews.
• Oversee steel erection operations across multiple sites per plans, schedules, and quality requirements.
• Conduct job site visits to assess progress and address challenges.
• Develop and ensure compliance with erection plans, lift plans, and sequencing strategies.
• Apply AISC, PCI, AWS, SDI, and SJI standards in planning and execution.
• Lead safety audits, hazard analyses, and incident investigations.
• Forecast labor needs and recruit/develop field personnel.
• Provide regular progress, labor, and safety reports to stakeholders.
