Job summary

Avantus is seeking a Manager, Field Operations to represent the company in the field for construction projects. You will ensure field activities meet safety, quality, and company standards, while coordinating with EPC contractors and project managers to keep builds on track.

The role requires 5+ years in construction management with large solar PV experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or similar required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction management roles, with civil/structural/electrical focus.
• Experience managing large solar PV construction projects, over 100MW preferred.
• Strong communication with field and corporate personnel.
• Willingness to travel – 75%.

Responsibilities

• Determine appropriate workforce for supervision on construction projects.
• Manage relationships with on-site workforce providers and construction managers.
• Ensure field personnel are introduced to projects and aware of safety, quality, and standards.
• Verify PPE availability on-site during visits.
• Escalate high-urgency field issues promptly.
• Review and challenge contractor QC plans, safety plans, and schedules.
• Coordinate with Project Managers on EPC billing and invoicing.
• Oversee audits of contractor work per contracts/manuals.
• Review contractor reports (safety, quality, change orders).
• Coordinate with owner engineer for site visits, inspections, audits, punch lists, reporting.
• Assist Developers and Project Managers in early-stage project setup and expectation setting.
• Assign, direct, coach, and mentor field-based construction staff representing Avantus.
• Review EPC proposals and designs for constructability.
• Ensure clear communication between field ops and project buyers/sponsors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
