Job summary

ThompsonGas is seeking an Operations Manager in Oroville, CA to plan and supervise day-to-day branch operations, including product distribution, storage, sales and service activities while strengthening customer relationships.

The role requires field propane retail experience, CDL with endorsements, and strong leadership and communication skills. Expect possible evenings/weekends, with duties extending to fleet coordination and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Past field work in the propane and distillate retail business desired.
• Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL or willing to obtain.
• Hazardous Materials, Airbrakes and Tanker endorsements or willing to obtain.
• Must have a working knowledge of DOT safety requirements.
• Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to provide leadership through coaching and mentoring with a focus on customer service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily service-related scheduling, customer care, and invoicing.
• Project workforce and material needs to ensure seasonal demand, coverage and service.
• Assist in maintaining the vehicle fleet through preventive maintenance, repairs, and licensing.
• Manage distribution and storage activities of the branch.
• Design and execute service processes including work orders, parts requisition, repairs, and dispatch.
• Ensure fuel distribution and inventory quality controls meet safety standards.
• Ensure safety meetings are conducted timely and DOT compliance is maintained.
• Perform performance reviews for branch employees and approve weekly time cards.
