Job summary

UCC Environmental in Gallatin, TN is seeking an entry-level Operator – Field Operations and Maintenance to support its growing O&M division. The role focuses on operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining water and wastewater systems at customer sites, with hands-on training provided.

You'll work 80% outdoors and 20% indoors, learn from experienced operators and site management, and have the chance to advance to Lead Operator or Field Service Engineer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
• 0–2 years of experience in industrial, mechanical, or wastewater operations preferred (will train).
• Basic understanding of pumps, valves and process systems.
• Prior experience in construction, manufacturing, or utility operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and adjust water and wastewater treatment and related systems per SOPs.
• Troubleshoot pumps, valves, piping, motors, sensors, and electrical components.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and log data accurately.
• Support field mobilization and equipment setup for field operations.
• Complete reports and handoffs for supervisors and program managers.
