Job summary

Barnhart Crane & Rigging is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day field operations of the Nebraska/South Sioux City branch, ensuring efficient job execution, optimal use of labor and equipment, and strict safety and regulatory compliance.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will lead and develop field personnel, support sales initiatives, and drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency and profitability.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of industrial experience; rigging and/or power generation experience is a plus.
• Strong leadership skills with a passion for developing others.
• Ability to stay organized, juggle priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience training or mentoring others, both formally and on the job.
• Ability to pass a drug screen, fit-for-duty exam, and background check.
• College degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations in the branch, partnering with the Branch Manager.
• Lead, coach, and develop field personnel to build a strong, engaged team.
• Coordinate job schedules, equipment, and field resources for smooth execution.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, and profitability.
• Collaborate with the sales team to support customer needs and project success.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, DOT requirements, Qual Cards, safety initiatives, audits, and equipment maintenance.
• Oversee training plans and ensure teams have the tools and knowledge to succeed.
• Work with the operations team to meet or exceed branch performance and monthly metrics.
