Job summary

Pend Oreille County is seeking an Office and Field Assistant to support the Noxious Weed Board through fieldwork, administrative tasks, and customer service. You will assist with weed inspections and control efforts, help maintain records, and support public education initiatives. Work hours may vary seasonally.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, English proficiency, and the ability to pass a background and driving record check. Preference for a pesticide license with endorsements.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; preference for 2 years college or vocational training in plant sciences, agriculture, ecology, or entomology.
• Ability to read, speak, and write English effectively.
• Must successfully pass a background and driving record check.
• Preference for holding a Washington State Dept of Agriculture Public Pesticide Operator's license with aquatic, ornamental, agriculture, and/or right-of-way endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with weed inspections and control efforts.
• Maintain records and databases; prepare documents and reports.
• Support workshops and public education efforts; provide weed identification information.
• Perform general office tasks and provide phone support.
