Job summary

Pend Oreille County is seeking an Office & Field Assistant for 30 hours per week to support the Noxious Weed Board with fieldwork, documentation, and public education. You will assist with weed inspections, maintain records, and help run workshops, while providing information on weed IDs and management.

Work is outdoors and indoors with seasonal hours; strong English skills and a valid background check are required, with pesticide license preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 2 years college or vocational training in plant sciences, agriculture, ecology, or entomology.
• Ability to read, speak, and write English effectively.
• Must successfully pass a background and driving record check.
• Preference for a Washington State Dept. of Agriculture Public Pesticide Operator's license with endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with weed inspections and control efforts.
• Maintain records and databases; prepare documents.
• Support workshops and public education efforts.
• Provide information on weed identification and management.
• Perform general office tasks including phone support.
