Job summary

Austin Bridge & Road, a leading unit of Austin Industries, invites applications for a Field Office Manager/Project Accountant for heavy civil projects in San Antonio, Texas. You will oversee job site accounting, payroll, invoicing, and administrative support to assist project staff and the accounting group.

The position requires strong problem-solving, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience with 2 years in construction.
• Experience in accounts payable, payroll processing, subcontractor coordination, and change order management
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of the accounts payable process workflow and is able troubleshoot payment or vendor issues
• Ensure the necessary back-up documentation is on file before approving invoices for payment
• Monitor the entire invoice system to ensure that subcontractors and suppliers are paid in a timely manner
• Oversee field payroll functions for both hourly and salaried employees; ensuring that all hours worked are properly documented, coded, and reported
• Ensures that all cost and cost adjustments are reviewed for accuracy to meet company standards and accounting rules
• Perform a wide variety of related administrative support tasks at project field offices
• Perform other duties as assigned
