Job summary

LandVest, Inc. in Ridgway, PA seeks an Operations Forester to manage forestry duties across field (80%) and office (20%) work for diverse clients. You will report to the Pennsylvania Regional Forester and coordinate with experienced foresters.

The role emphasizes silvicultural prescriptions, inventory projects, and maintaining records while ensuring compliance with green certification standards. Travel to remote sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in forestry (SAF accredited) or an associate’s degree with relevant experience.
• Strong computer skills including Excel and Word; ability to manage data and reports.
• Three to five years of work experience in relevant forestry duties.
• Desire to work in field conditions and remote locations, with willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Timber Sale Administration: develop and implement silvicultural prescriptions, complete sale documents, layout, contracts, and inspect active timber sales.
• Green Certification: ensure compliance with LandVest green certification policies and procedures.
• Inventory: participate in and manage inventory projects, including carbon inventory.
• Other Field Duties: reconnaissance of harvest units, road layout, boundary maintenance, GPS data collection, and invasives control.
• Office: maintain client records, update maps, input monthly reports, and complete timber sale paperwork.
