Job summary

LandVest, Inc. is seeking an energetic Strike Force forester to travel to forests across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and beyond, providing forest inventory, timber marking, harvest layout and boundary maintenance services.

The team travels 8-10 days per month; duties blend field data collection with data management, quality control and analytics, plus mentorship and training in forest management. This is a hands-on role that builds forestry skills in a supportive, experienced environment.

Qualifications

• Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Forestry or SAF accredited program.
• Experience with field data collection and data management.
• Strong data management skills with Excel, Access, R, Python.

Responsibilities

• Inventory: collect overstory and understory data using point sample, fixed radius and carbon protocols.
• Timber marking: implement silvicultural prescriptions through marking and sale layout.
• Boundary work: maintenance and GPS data collection.
• Data management: review data for quality and reformat as needed.
