Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Nurse Surveyor (Nurse III) to perform on-site inspections in Texas long‑term care facilities, including nursing homes and day services. The role requires RN licensure and comprehensive regulatory knowledge, with travel across the region.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Texas or a state with reciprocity.
• Must complete SMQT training within one year of hire date.
• Two years of experience in health care or regulatory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site licensure inspections and surveys in long-term care facilities.
• Prepare detailed written reports of deficiencies and regulatory findings.
• Communicate findings clearly with facility staff and stakeholders.
• May supervise team members during inspections and provide technical guidance.
• Be available for on-call duties and emergency situations.
