Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Licensed Nurse Surveyor to conduct on-site licensure inspections, investigate complaints, and perform comprehensive surveys in long-term care settings across Texas. The Nurse III - Health Fac role requires RN licensure, strong regulatory knowledge, and ability to travel up to 80% statewide.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Texas or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site licensure inspections, complaint and incident investigations, and annual surveys to ensure compliance with state health and safety regulations.
• Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders to provide information, answer inquiries, or resolve issues in Texas long-term care facilities.
• Complete inspection or survey reports detailing deficiencies and remedies.
• Revisit facilities to verify correction of violations and perform QA reviews of documents.
