Brooksource is seeking an experienced Support Technician 2 in Austin, TX for on-site network hardware support on a state government project. You will replace, install, and test routers, switches, firewalls, wireless gear, and Starlink hardware at remote sites across Texas, with occasional travel up to 5% and strict safety/compliance requirements.

Qualifications

4+ years of experience maintaining and repairing network hardware.
Experience installing, upgrading, and testing network equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Ability to coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
Travel up to 5% to remote sites in Texas.

Responsibilities

Support replacement and installation of network equipment at remote sites.
Remove, replace, and install routers, switches, firewalls, wireless gear, and Starlink hardware.
Verify equipment, cabling, and power requirements before deployment.
Coordinate with remote-site personnel, vendors, and contractors.
Track shipments and verify site readiness; document changes.
Provide remote and on-site technical support during installations.
Assist with Starlink installations scheduling and site readiness.
Document issues and resolutions; communicate project status.
