Job summary

Brooksource is seeking a Data Center Technician to support the hands-on installation, maintenance, monitoring, and on-site assistance within a data center environment in Austin, TX.

You will work with servers, storage, and networking gear; diagnose issues, perform component replacements, and coordinate with remote teams to ensure uptime and security. A focus on documentation and asset management is required.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of server, storage, and networking hardware.
• Familiarity with operating systems, basic networking concepts, and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Experience working in data center or mission-critical environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rack, stack, install, configure, decommission, and replace servers, storage, and network equipment.
• Perform hardware diagnostics and component-level replacements (drives, memory, power supplies, NICs).
• Install, label, document, test, and maintain fiber and copper cabling.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, OS, application, and network connectivity issues.
• Act as on-site “smart hands” support for remote engineering, networking, and systems teams.
• Monitor infrastructure health and performance using DCIM, ServiceNow, and alerting systems.
• Respond to alerts, incidents, and service requests within defined SLAs.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation efforts.
• Maintain accurate asset inventory records and system documentation.
