Job summary

Guide Star, a division of CCI Systems, Inc., seeks a Field Network Technician in Ann Arbor, MI. You will design, implement, maintain, and support customer network infrastructure with hands-on deployments and field engineering duties.

The role requires travel up to 50% across the United States, strong cabling skills, and experience with Wi‑Fi survey tools to meet SLAs and business objectives. Monday–Friday schedule with possible after-hours work.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Network Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Network and System Administration, or similar preferred.
• ECSE Design certification, Security+ certification, CompTIA Network+ certification, CCNA, CCNP, or comparable certification preferred.
• Possess BCSI certifications preferred.
• Excellent customer service and professional phone presence.
• Able to explain terms, both technical and non-technical.

Responsibilities

• Work on assessing, evaluating, developing, and deploying network solutions for Hospitality, MDU and enterprise customers.
• Travel to job sites often requiring out-of-town stays and adjust workload to meet objectives on time.
• Perform site surveys to gather information for cable runs, network design, installation plan and BoM.
• Perform structured cabling, testing, and termination of cables; install network devices and manage power wiring/hardware.
• Create documentation for new and existing customers and ensure safety and compliance.]
• Work with Engineering Team and act as smart hands to deploy network solutions or resolve issues on customer sites.
