Job summary

Black Box is seeking a field service technician to manage installation, service and support of network cabling and related equipment across New Jersey. The role involves end-to-end project work, on-site coordination, and collaboration with regional teams to meet client SLAs.

Responsibilities include hardware deployment, cabling upgrades, testing of network assets, and incident resolution. A valid driver’s license and readiness for on-call rotations are required.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in data communications.
• Basic knowledge of Cisco phones, switches and routers.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day service operations of installations, delivery and deployment of technical resources.
• Provide hardware break-fix services for network infrastructure.
• Install/patch network devices and cabling in data centers and network closets.
• Perform preventive maintenance and regular testing of wireless systems and infrastructure.
• Coordinate with North American Commercial Services operations to complete projects and meet SLAs.
• Attend meetings and document work orders, time reporting and materials for client SLAs.
