Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Mining / Geological Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to contribute to site operations in Golden, CO. The 10-week, paid internship offers hands-on experience with mine planning, drilling optimization, and safety compliance, with field travel to multiple sites as needed.

You will work on surveying, mapping, and collaboration with geology, engineering, and safety teams, and will present your learnings to leadership at the end of the internship.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in Mine Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or a closely related field.
• Strong academic performance with a solid understanding of engineering principles.
• Geographic flexibility to work at various sites.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Willingness to spend significant time in the field, gaining hands-on experience and firsthand knowledge of our business operations.
• A team player who can collaborate across different levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Surveying & Mapping: Assist with surveying and mapping surface mine advances, geological features, and key operational structures.
• Mine Planning & Geology: Support short- and mid-term mine planning initiatives in close collaboration with the Mine Planning and Resource Management Team.
• Drill & Blast Optimization: Help analyze blasting efficiency, including cost tracking, fragmentation analysis, and production impact evaluations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with geology, engineering, and safety to understand the full spectrum of operations.
• Safety Protocols: Assist in implementing and monitoring safety protocols and regulatory documentation.
• Skill Application: Utilize a range of skills in day-to-day operations and teamwork.
• Executive Presentation: Present learnings to the executive leadership team at internship end.
