Job summary

Amrize in Dundee, MI is offering a 10-week, paid Quarry Operations & Engineering Intern program for Summer 2027. You will work outdoors with engineers and plant managers to optimize aggregate production, learn field surveying, and gain exposure to crushing, screening, and mine planning workflows.

The role requires an undergrad in Mining, Civil, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, strong academics, geographic flexibility, and a proactive, safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong academic performance with a solid understanding of engineering principles.
• Geographic flexibility to work at various sites.
• High energy and a proactive approach to tackling new challenges.
• A team player who can collaborate across different levels of the organization.
• Outdoor Stamina: ability to work outdoors for extended periods in variable weather conditions and rugged terrain.
• Technical Skills: familiarity with surveying concepts; proficiency in Google/Excel; AutoCAD or mining software is a plus.
• Core Competencies: safety-first mindset, good communication, hands-on fieldwork.

Responsibilities

• Join our operations team as a Quarry Operations & Engineering Intern.
• Work outdoors in an active surface mining environment with engineers and plant managers.
• Assist in field surveying, production optimization, drilling & blasting support, and safety/compliance tasks.
• Gain exposure to crushing, screening, and mine planning workflows.
