Job summary

Border States, a 100% employee-owned electrical distributor, invites you to join a team focused on metering fieldwork in Florence, SC or Myrtle Beach, SC. The role involves troubleshooting meters, replacing meters, recording voltages, and ensuring safe field operations with daily tailgate safety briefings.

Qualifying candidates will have a HS diploma or GED and a willingness to learn, with a valid driver’s license and basic tool usage. MS Word/Excel skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Background in electricity is a plus but not required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience with basic hand tools and MS Word/Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and verifies meter wiring and conditions of equipment.
• Removes and replaces existing electric meters.
• Takes and records voltages and photos of on-site conditions.
• Deploys AMR/AMI equipment.
• Follows safety standards and completes reports for the lead technician.
• Works in a field-oriented environment with minimal indoor time.
