What You’ll Do

• Review cardiovascular cases as a specialty-matched expert, including procedures like cardiac catheterizations, coronary interventions, and implantable devices.
• Engage in peer-to-peer discussions with providers to promote appropriate, high-value care aligned with guidelines.
• Collaborate with leadership and clinical staff on complex cases and decision-making.
• Guide initial clinical reviewers to ensure best practices.
• Provide clinical rationale for appeals and discuss determinations with providers within regulatory timeframes.
• Use review guidelines to ensure consistency and compliance with policies and accreditation standards.
• Document all communications accurately and timely.
• Participate in ongoing training and support research activities related to utilization management.
• Potentially serve as Medical Director for specific regions or plans, overseeing utilization management.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/MBBS with current, unrestricted license.
• Active Board Certification in Interventional Cardiology or equivalent qualifications.
• At least five years’ experience in cardiology preferred.
• Strong clinical, management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in computer use.
• No current exclusions or sanctions by healthcare programs or agencies.

Technical Requirements

High-speed internet (>10 Mbps) and direct connection to home router are required. These requirements may change with office reopenings.
