Cardiovascular Utilization Management Reviewer (Interventional Cardiologist)

Use your interventional cardiology expertise in a non-clinical setting to review cases, ensure high-value, evidence-based care, and contribute to better health outcomes. Enjoy a collaborative environment that promotes continuous learning and peer engagement.

What You’ll Do
  • Review cardiovascular cases, including invasive/interventional procedures, to assess medical necessity and provide expert opinions.
  • Engage in peer-to-peer discussions with providers to ensure appropriate care aligned with guidelines.
  • Collaborate with leadership and clinical staff on complex cases.
  • Guide Initial Clinical Reviewers and support decision-making processes.
  • Provide clinical rationale for appeals and communicate determinations within regulatory timelines.
  • Apply medical review guidelines to ensure consistency, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Document all communications accurately and timely.
  • Participate in ongoing training and quality assurance activities.
  • Assist senior leadership and, if requested, serve as Medical Director for specific regions or plans.
Qualifications
  • MD/DO/MBBS with current, unrestricted medical license.
  • Board certification in Interventional Cardiology or equivalent qualifications.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in cardiology practice preferred.
  • Strong clinical, management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with computers.
  • No current exclusions or sanctions by health care programs or legal actions against medical license.
Technical Requirements

High-speed internet (>10 Mbps) and direct connection to home router required. Requirements may change with office reopenings.

Salary range: $120-$135/hr, plus potential bonuses based on performance. Benefits include health insurance and other comprehensive packages. Compensation varies based on experience.
