What You’ll Be Doing

As a Cardiovascular Utilization Management Reviewer (Interventional Cardiologist), you will leverage your expertise in interventional cardiology to review cases, ensure high-value, evidence-based care, and collaborate with healthcare providers in a remote setting, contributing to better health outcomes through peer-to-peer discussions and clinical reviews.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert reviews for cardiovascular cases, including invasive/interventional procedures.
  • Conduct peer-to-peer discussions with treating providers to ensure appropriate, high-value care.
  • Collaborate with leadership and clinical staff on complex cases.
  • Guide initial clinical reviewers and provide clinical rationale for appeals.
  • Discuss determinations with physicians within regulatory timeframes.
  • Utilize clinical guidelines to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Document all communications accurately and timely.
  • Participate in ongoing training and research activities as needed.
  • If selected as Medical Director, assume overall accountability for utilization management in designated regions.
Qualifications
  • MD/DO/MBBS with current, unrestricted license.
  • Active Board Certification in Interventional Cardiology or equivalent qualifications.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in cardiology practice preferred.
  • Strong clinical, management, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and clinical review tools.
  • No current exclusions or sanctions by health programs or legal actions.
Technical Requirements

High-speed internet (>10 Mbps) and direct connection capability for call center employees. Requirements may change with office reopening.

Salary range: $120-$135/hr, plus performance-based bonus and comprehensive benefits. Compensation varies based on skills and experience.
