Job summary

JDS Energy & Mining Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to lead field execution of mechanical construction on mining and industrial projects at site-based FIFO assignments.

You will supervise subcontractors, ensure compliance with ASME/CSA/API, and coordinate with project and engineering teams to meet schedule and budget while upholding safety standards and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise mechanical subcontractors during installation of equipment, pumps, tanks, and process infrastructure
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes (ASME, CSA, API)
• Monitor progress and ensure schedule milestones are met without compromising safety or quality
• Oversee installation of mine process systems including pump stations, slurry and water systems, flotation circuits, thickeners, and grinding mills
• Conduct inspections and testing including alignment, torqueing, and installation verification
• Verify installation quality and adherence to scope
• Ensure QA/QC documentation and turnover packages are completed and submitted
• Enforce site safety policies and participate in audits, toolbox talks, and investigations
• Identify and mitigate field hazards related to lifting, rigging, pressure systems, and stored energy
• Promote a strong safety culture across all crews
• Interface with superintendents, construction managers, and engineering teams to resolve field issues
• Support planning, material tracking, and commissioning activities
• Communicate progress updates and highlight risks impacting execution
