Job summary

Coulter Services in Wisconsin is seeking a Field Mechanic to perform maintenance, preventive repairs, and minor equipment fixes at project sites across Wisconsin, mainly Northern Wisconsin. You will support field teams, ensure fleet safety and reliability, and deliver excellent service to internal stakeholders.

With 3–5 years of experience in heavy truck or equipment repair, a valid driver's license, and strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, you will travel frequently, lead junior mechanics

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in heavy truck, automotive, or equipment repair or equivalent training.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles.
  • High school diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, inspect, and maintain fleet equipment per manufacturer and safety standards.
  • Travel frequently to job sites and keep a clean, professional service vehicle.
  • Oversee less experienced mechanics when needed.
  • Identify mechanical issues using visual inspection and diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain detailed records of work, parts used, and equipment condition.
  • Perform safety inspections and comply with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and regulations.
  • Participate in safety training and maintain hazardous materials knowledge.
  • Work independently and in teams with reliability and strong work ethic.

Job description

Role Overview:

The Field Mechanic performs maintenance, preventive repairs, and minor equipment repairs at project sites across Wisconsin, mainly Northern Wisconsin. They support field teams, ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently, and provide exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct repairs, inspections, and maintenance on fleet equipment, complying with manufacturer and safety standards.
  • Travel frequently to job sites, maintaining a clean and professional service vehicle.
  • Oversee less experienced mechanics when necessary.
  • Identify mechanical issues using visual inspection and diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and equipment condition.
  • Perform safety inspections and ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulations.
  • Participate in safety training and maintain current hazardous materials knowledge.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and a strong work ethic.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 3-5 years of experience in heavy truck, automotive, or equipment repair, or equivalent technical training with 4+ years of experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Strong mechanical skills, familiarity with tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Effective communication, basic computer skills, and knowledge of safety and regulatory standards.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, with good teamwork abilities.

Must be dependable, capable of working independently, and adhere to safety protocols. The role involves physical activity, travel, and working in various environments.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly wage of $47.92, with benefits as per collective bargaining agreements. The position may include pre-employment screening, and accommodations are available upon request.
