Job summary

Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. is seeking a Field Mechanic to support its Maintenance Services group. The role focuses on safe repair and preventative maintenance of rock crushers and fixed plant equipment at operating sites in Georgia and surrounding states.

You will perform preventive maintenance, field measurements, and repairs while documenting actions and ensuring DOT compliance. Travel is frequent, and you'll train on cranes, welders, and torches within the first 90 days.

Qualifications

• Safety is the number one priority.
• HS Diploma or GED and mechanical proficiency.
• Ability to field weld with multiple processes and flame/cutting tools.
• Able to measure parts with micrometers/calipers and assess fits.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work outdoors in varying weather.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate in outdoor job sites.
• Minimum 3 years experience in aggregates or rock crushing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair rock crushers and fixed plant equipment at operating sites.
• Perform preventative and planned maintenance per schedules.
• Measure components in the field and determine repair/replacement.
• Document findings and actions in field reports.
• Care for equipment and ensure DOT compliance and safe operations.
• Complete required trainings and certifications within stated timelines.
• Assist in repairs and maintenance with various tools and equipment.

Education

HS Diploma or GED

Strong mechanical background

Safety first mentality

Welding and cutting (field welding, plasma)

Measurement with micrometers/calipers

Willingness to travel frequently

Ability to lift 50 lbs

Experience with rock crushers/aggregates
