The Middlesex Corporation in Hartford, CT is seeking a Field Mechanic to diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide range of heavy construction equipment both in the shop and on job sites. This role requires independent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

The Field Mechanic plays a vital role in ensuring the functionality and efficiency of equipment critical to project success.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience working on construction equipment.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
• Must have personal tools suitable for the job.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including adapting to changing priorities.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety policies and promote safety first on all sites.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on construction equipment, on-road and off-road.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Complete minor welding tasks as needed.
• Provide on-site repairs with minimal project disruption.
• Accurately fill out daily work orders and reports.
• Submit approved parts request forms as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and use PPE at all times.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
