Job summary

Froehling & Robertson, Inc. (F&R) seeks a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician to travel to construction sites and perform field soil, concrete, and related tests under supervision.

The role emphasizes safe work practices, accurate data capture on smartphones/tablets, and timely reporting to Project Managers. You will inspect contractor work, input data, and assist in developing field and laboratory test reports.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior construction or field testing experience preferred.
• ACI Level I Concrete, State DOT, WACEL, or ICC certifications are a plus.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Must be able to read and interpret plans, specs, safety rules, manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform field materials testing of soil, asphalt, masonry and concrete.
• Prepare detailed field reports with test results and observations.
• Perform laboratory tests on soil and concrete and prepare reports.
• Evaluate site and subgrade conditions and provide recommendations.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and staff regarding construction issues.
