Job summary

Building & Earth Sciences, Inc. is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician - Level I to observe field testing on site, perform sample prep, testing and documentation for soil, concrete, grout, mortar and asphalt, and report results clearly.

The role requires at least 6 months of experience, current ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Level I certification, and readiness for night shifts and weekend work, with reliable transportation to branch locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 6 months experience in field testing.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Level I Certification required.
• Portable Nuclear Gauge Safety Training Certification required.
• Understanding of Proctor Compaction Test and USCS Soil Classification.
• Trained and demonstrated competency in One-Point Proctor testing in the field.

Responsibilities

• Receive, understand and execute written and verbal directions.
• Review specifications for civil and structural plans and identify sections applicable to the scope of work.
• Perform tests, inspections and field observations with some supervision.
• Submit daily field reports documenting testing and inspections.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment according to codes and standards.
• Transport, operate and care for a nuclear density gauge as assigned.
