Job summary

Building & Earth Sciences, Inc. is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician – Level I to provide on-site testing observations for soil, concrete, grout, mortar and asphalt, following project specs and client requirements.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 6 months experience and an active ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Level I certification, plus the ability to work night shifts and some weekends.

Qualifications

• Fundamental knowledge of sample prep, collection & testing, field observations, and documentation of construction activities.
• Must pass relevant tests and/or achieve valid signatures.
• Ability to create and maintain accurate and confidential test records and to prepare easily understandable reports.

Responsibilities

• Receive, understand and execute written and verbal directions.
• Review specs for civil/structural plans and identify applicable scope.
• Perform tests, inspections and field observations with some supervision.
• Submit daily field reports to document testing and observations.
• Document non-conforming items to designated supervision.
• Calibrate and maintain equipment per codes and standards.
