Building & Earth Sciences, Inc. seeks a Construction Materials Testing Level II Technician in Garner, NC. The role requires at least 1 year of CMT experience with ACI Concrete Certification and ICC Soils Special Inspector certification, or equivalent credentials.

The position involves field testing, observations, and reporting on soil, concrete, grout, mortar, and asphalt per project specs. Night shifts and some weekend work are required, with a competitive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 months experience in Construction Materials Testing (CMT).
• Must pass relevant tests and/or achieve valid certifications.
• Ability to learn company-specific software and programs.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work under varying schedules.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests, inspections and observations according to project requirements with minimal supervision.
• Submit daily field reports documenting testing and field observations.
• Document and communicate non-conforming items to project supervision.
• Operate and calibrate testing equipment, including a nuclear density gauge, safely.
• Demonstrate competency in One-Point Proctor testing in the field.
• Read and interpret detailed plans and specifications.
• Conduct mortar and grout sampling and testing.
• Monitor asphalt placement as required by projects.
