Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates, Inc. is seeking a field technician to perform site observations and materials testing in the local region.

You will prepare daily logs detailing inspections and test results for soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel. Responsibilities include communicating with the project manager, supporting on-site operations, and ensuring safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Reliable vehicle for field work, valid driver’s license, and satisfactory driving record.
• Must meet additional pre-employment criteria.
• Ability to lift/move up to 60-80 pounds (soil samples, equipment).
• Ability to work in all outdoor climates and varied terrain.
• Attention to detail and safety compliance.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
• Use of company tablet and MS Office programs.
• Ability to perform basic math and use measurement tools.
• With training, read and interpret plans and specs, safety rules, manuals.

Responsibilities

• Field observations at jobsites in the region.
• Sampling and testing of construction materials.
• Preparing accurate daily logs outlining inspections and results.
• Daily communication with PM or Operations Manager regarding project progress.
