Job summary

Sabine Surveyors is seeking a Staff Surveyor/Auditor (Compliance) in the New Orleans, LA area. The role involves performing marine surveys and audits, ensuring timely client communication, and producing precise reports in line with ISO procedures.

Ideal candidates have maritime education or equivalent sea-going experience, with TWIC credentials and familiarity with report writing. Willingness to travel and promote services is preferred.

Qualifications

• Report and technical writing skills will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform marine surveys and/or audits in the field as directed by Area Manager or VP and per ISO quality procedures.
• Ensure timely flow of information to/from clients throughout survey/audit process; acknowledge receipt of assignment and submit preliminary advice.
• Produce and submit concise, technically and grammatically correct survey/audit reports based on templates.
• Assist Area Manager with handling customer complaints and adjusting invoices.
• Recognize potential new business and bring to management’s attention.
• Promote company services in the marine industry and attend client visits/industry events.
• Follow Health, Safety, Security & Environmental Manual requirements and participate in monthly safety meetings.
• Pursue personal development through in-house training and external opportunities; join professional organizations.
• Assist with training of junior personnel; maintain PPE and calibrations per procedures.
• Obtain proper credentials to enter terminals and job sites; maintain records as required.
