Job summary

DNV – Maritime Region Americas seeks a Junior Surveyor to join our Gulf of Mexico operations in New Orleans, LA. You will contribute to surveys and audits of ships in operation and ships under construction, working as part of a skilled team serving traditional shipping segments along the Gulf Coast.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering (marine-focused preferred), strong English communication, and a willingness to travel ~25% annually.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Marine related field preferred).
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically/internationally.
  • Pre-employment background check and drug screening will be conducted.

Responsibilities

  • Survey ocean-going ships at ports and at sea, including drydock surveys.
  • Certify Ships in Operation for compliance with international standards and rules.
  • Ensure work complies with organization rules and line management instructions.
  • Respond to technical queries and design submittals; seek internal support when needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of clients' information and protect IP.
