Job summary

TransCore (TCI), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a Technician I – Preventative Maintenance in Orlando, FL to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, and repairs on toll collection systems, roadway communications, video surveillance, lane equipment, and related infrastructure.

You will document maintenance activities, respond to service requests, and ensure equipment reliability. A valid driver's license and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Typically requires 0–2 years of related experience.
• Experience with tolling systems, communications equipment, networking, electronics, or transportation technology is preferred but not required.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license; driving is essential.
• Ability to operate bucket trucks and work at elevated heights.
• Basic knowledge of electrical/electronic, networking, and computer hardware; familiarity with Windows OS.
• Ability to troubleshoot routine equipment and system issues and document activities.
• Willingness to follow safety procedures and work a rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on tolling infrastructure and field equipment.
• Service, install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair customer equipment and related systems on site.
• Inspect, test, calibrate, and document maintenance for tolling devices and equipment.
• Maintain video surveillance, lane devices, toll equipment, network gear, RF gear, switches, and UPS units.
• Install, configure, and maintain electronic equipment and firmware; support upgrades.
• Respond to service calls and alarms within established timeframes.
• Diagnose issues and replace hardware, software, modules, and PCB components as needed.
• Conduct field testing and functional performance checks.
• Complete reports and maintenance records accurately; manage spare parts and inventory.
• Operate company vehicles and field support equipment as required.
• Provide on-call coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays.
