Job summary

In-Place Machining Company (IPM) is seeking a highly skilled machinist to join its field team. You will travel across the United States and internationally, performing precision field machining at customer sites and solving complex challenges in varied environments.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of manual or field machining, expertise with Bridgeport mills and manual lathes, and strong blueprint reading and micrometer skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manual or field machining experience.
• Experience with Bridgeport mills and manual engine lathes.
• Ability to read blueprints and machining specifications.
• Skilled in precision measurement using micrometers and inspection tools.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining processes.
• Experience with rigging, hand tools and power tools.
• Self-starter who can troubleshoot and succeed in the field.
• High School Diploma or GED; technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision field machining in industrial environments across North America and beyond.
• Hold tight tolerances in demanding real-world conditions.
• Set up, operate, and maintain specialized machining equipment at customer sites.
• Analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
• Partner with engineers, project managers, and customers to develop innovative solutions.
• Uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.
