Job summary

LEVERAGE MECHANICAL SERVICES INC seeks a machinist/field technician to determine procedures, set up and operate machines, and perform on-site machining for client projects. You will use precision tools to ensure tight tolerances and maintain quality across a variety of equipment in plant settings.

Travel may be up to 60% and requires handling physical tasks, safety compliance, and coordination with clients and teams.

Qualifications

  • Machining experience, 1–3 years preferred.
  • U.S. work authorization is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Determine work procedures, machine tools, equipment and attachments for assigned work.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to attain accurate dimensions and tolerances.
  • Set up/operate machines including pipe cutting, flange facing, lathes, mills, drills and grinders.
  • Perform field machining on client sites including pipe cutting, flange resurfacing, drilling and tapping.
  • Travel 0%–60% and work indoors/outdoors in plant environments.
  • Interact with crew, supervisors and client personnel; wear safety equipment as required.
  • Move between job sites and tolerate climate changes; lift up to 75 pounds; climb ladders.
  • Communicate effectively with focus and multitask in dynamic environments.

Description

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:



  • Determine work procedures, machine tools, equipment, and attachments to be used for assigned work

  • Use of precision measuring instruments and equipment such as Vernier calipers, height gauges, inside, outside, and depth micrometers, parallels, gage blocks, dial indicators, surface gages to attain accurate dimensions and maintain tolerances

  • Set up/operate machines, including but not limited to pipe cutting, flange facing, lathes, mills, drills, grinders, saws, boring equipment, etc.

  • Performs field machining services on client work sites performing any of the following duties:

  • Pipe cutting and beveling

  • Flange resurfacing

  • Drilling and tapping

  • Milling motor or pump bases

  • Line boring

  • Key-way cutting

  • Shaft turning

  • Metal disintegration bolt removal

  • Travel Requirements: 0% – 60%

  • Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere

  • Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel

  • Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels

  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection

  • May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes

  • May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis

  • Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds

  • Must be able to walk and climb except when performing non-field duties

  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employees to communicate effectively

  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodations, which permits employees to investigations

  • Sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to perform routine office duties

  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations

  • Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment includes the ability to gain access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.

  • Ability to maintain focus and multitask
