Job summary

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is seeking a field-based Safety Consultant to provide consultation and training to employers on safety matters, develop loss-control partnerships, and support underwriting with risk analysis.

The role requires residency near the target market, travel within the territory, and the ability to evaluate premises, equipment, and practices to identify hazards and propose actionable improvements.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a related field and/or ARM/ASP/CSP certification or equivalent experience.
• Three years of relevant experience; workers' compensation experience preferred.
• Knowledge of loss control standards and OSHA/state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review processes to identify hazards and unsafe acts and advise on best practices.
• Write and summarize technical safety information into practical reports.
• Provide loss prevention training and presentations to clients and staff.
• Support underwriting by communicating risk factors identified at client sites.
• Develop and measure safety programs; track actions and outcomes.
• Manage assigned accounts and coordinate visits with stakeholders.
