OrthoMidwest, Inc. is a distributor for DePuy Synthes Joint Reconstruction, serving Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. We are seeking a Field Logistics Coordinator to manage inventory for all orthopaedic surgical cases in the greater Pittsburgh region.

You will coordinate deliveries, work with hospitals, and optimize transportation costs daily. The role requires a High School Diploma (2-year technical degree preferred) and a valid driver’s license with a clean record.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate inventory movement for surgical cases in the Pittsburgh area.
• Ensure on-time, accurate delivery of implants and instruments to hospitals.
• Manage transportation costs via couriers, van, and sales team.
• Create daily inventory plan and schedule for upcoming surgeries.
• Communicate with Inventory Coordinators and sales force daily.
• Store, replenish and retrieve inventory for cases.
• Monitor courier usage to minimize costs.
• Coordinate inventory cycle count and accuracy.

Overall Responsibility

Plan and coordinate the movement of inventory for all orthopaedic surgical cases performed in the greater Pittsburgh area.Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of required inventory to and from all hospitals.Manage transportation costs through an efficient and balanced use of overnight carriers, same-day couriers, the company van, and the sales force.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Creates and executes a daily inventory plan and strategy to ensure that implants and instruments are delivered 100% on time and accurately for all surgical cases
• Communicates daily with Inventory Coordinators and sales force to schedule and plan for upcoming surgeries
• Stores, replenishes and retrieves inventory in preparation for surgical cases
• Monitors and analyzes courier usage in order to minimize transportation costs
• Transport medical inventory, via company cargo van, between local office and area hospitals in Pittsburgh and the surrounding region
• Accurately and efficiently follow office defined procedures for pick-ups and drop-offs
• Plans and coordinates inventory cycle count program to ensure a high level of inventory control and accuracy
• Communicate clearly via email and phone throughout the workday

• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record required
• Competent and comfortable driving a large cargo van
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Knowledge of the Pittsburgh area is a plus
