1.0 Purpose:
The Inventory Site Specialist is responsible for executing the day-to-day operational activities that support DePuy Synthes Sales Consultants. This role serves as the operational backbone of the local field service network site by managing inventory, processing surgical sets and trays, coordinating logistics, supporting case fulfillment, and ensuring operational excellence through quality, compliance, and inventory accuracy.
2.0 Scope:
The Inventory Control Associate works directly with Sales Consultants, Site Leadership, and cross-functional business partners to provide best-in-class service, enabling the field sales organization to focus on serving customers and driving growth.
Responsibilities
- Support Sales Consultants by sourcing inventory, instruments, implants, trays, kits, and replenishment product required for surgical procedures.
- Process urgent and routine case requests while maintaining service and fulfillment expectations.
- Communicate proactively with Sales Consultants regarding inventory availability, shortages, logistics issues, and case readiness.
- Assist with turnaround activities and redistribution efforts to maximize case coverage and inventory utilization.
- Inventory Management
- Receive, verify, and process inbound inventory accurately and timely.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through verification, cycle counting, auditing, and reconciliation activities.
- Execute inventory transfers, returns, redistribution requests, and replenishment activities.
- Support inventory optimization initiatives, including asset redeployment, set breakdown, burndown efforts, and inventory hygiene programs.
- Set & Tray Processing
- Inspect, verify, and process returned sets, trays, and kits.
- Identify missing, damaged, expired, or nonconforming product and follow established escalation procedures.
- Perform tray verification activities to ensure set integrity and accurate inventory records.
- Support BOM health initiatives by identifying and correcting inventory discrepancies.
- Logistics & Delivery Execution
- Pick, pack, stage, and ship inventory in accordance with established procedures.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments using approved carriers and transportation methods.
- Prepare shipping documentation and maintain transaction accuracy within company systems.
- Monitor shipments and support issue resolution related to transportation and delivery.
- Quality & Compliance
- Operate in compliance with all Quality System requirements, SOPs, work instructions, and regulatory standards.
- Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and inventory control procedures.
- Support audit readiness activities and maintain a compliant work environment.
- Escalate quality issues, inventory discrepancies, and operational risks appropriately.
- Operational Excellence
- Execute standardized processes that drive efficiency, consistency, and service performance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on service level, inventory accuracy, productivity, and cost reduction.
- Maintain organized and compliant workstations, inventory locations, and storage areas.
- Support site-level performance objectives and operational metrics.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, supply chain, inventory management, customer service, healthcare operations, or related field preferred.
- Experience working in fast-paced operational environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with inventory management systems, ERP platforms, or warehouse management systems.
- Experience in medical device, healthcare, supply chain, distribution, or sterile processing environments.
- Knowledge of SAP, Move Medical, Power BI, or similar business systems.
- Experience supporting field-based sales organizations.

Physical Requirements
- Regular lifting, moving, and handling of inventory, trays, kits, and shipping materials.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform warehouse-related activities for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to company-approved weight limits and safely operate material handling equipment as required.
4.0 Qualifications/Skills Required:
- College degree or related coursework preferred, with 4+ years’ experience required, and/or combination of related degree and years’ experience
- Experience preferred within any of the following areas: distribution, manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, customer service
- Demonstrated initiative, creativity, assertiveness, and proactive communication
- MS Office Suite proficiency preferred, including (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems
- Availability to work Monday – Friday at indicated site location
- Ability to accommodate changes in the schedule including working in other shifts as per operational needs is required (late or early start)
- Ability to travel up to 10% domestically
