Job summary

Siemens Gamesa is seeking a Blade Inspection Field Lead to oversee drone-based blade inspections across assigned regions. You will mentor pilots, coordinate field activities, inspect wind turbine blades and nacelles, and generate technical reports for customers and internal teams.

You will travel extensively, support O&M troubleshooting, and contribute to safety, efficiency, and quality improvements in field operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in wind industry or similar field-based technical environment.
• FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot License required.
• Strong knowledge of blade inspection techniques and turbine safety practices.
• Experience performing and documenting inspections, repairs, and generating technical reports.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word, and data management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support drone-based blade inspection operations across regions.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute field inspection activities with a focus on safety and quality.
• Train and mentor drone pilots and inspection technicians.
• Review inspection data and prepare detailed reports for customers and stakeholders.
• Travel extensively (up to 95–100%) to support field activities and projects.
• Identify process improvements to increase safety, productivity and quality.
