Job summary

NC State University is seeking a Research Technician to coordinate and conduct field, greenhouse, and laboratory tasks within the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology. You will supervise students and staff, collect data, and contribute to reports and publications while maintaining high standards of data integrity.

The role requires coordinating experiments, following SOPs, and safe operation of equipment, with occasional weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating field and greenhouse experiments.
• Ability to supervise graduate and undergrad staff.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, establish, maintain, and collect data from research trials in field and greenhouse settings.
• Ensure proper experimental design and treatment applications.
• Troubleshoot issues and summarize/analyze data.
• Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
• Safely operate research equipment.
• Supervise graduate and undergraduate students and temporary staff.
• Prepare written documentation, including data records and publications.
