Job summary

SOCOTEC US is expanding its Nashville construction materials testing operations and seeks a Field and Laboratory Technician. The role splits time between project sites and our Nashville laboratory, supporting soil, concrete, aggregates, and asphalt testing.

Training is provided to obtain certifications; strong attention to detail and reliability are essential. The position offers hands-on field and lab duties, opportunities for certification, and career growth within a growing Nashville

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification required.
• Valid driver's license with clean record; travel to project sites.
• Strong math and testing calculation abilities accepted; detail-oriented.
• Willingness to learn and obtain industry certifications.
• Ability to work in both laboratory and field environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform lab testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt per ASTM/AASHTO and procedures.
• Conduct Proctor, sieve analysis, Atterberg Limits, sand equivalent, and concrete compression testing.
• Perform asphalt testing including ignition oven, Marshall and gyratory compaction.
• Record observations and prepare testing reports for Project Managers.
• Maintain lab records, forms, and equipment, and ensure calibration/verification.
