Job summary

SOCOTEC is expanding its Nashville construction materials testing operations and seeks a Field and Laboratory Technician to support field observation, sampling, testing and laboratory operations for soils, concrete, aggregates, and asphalt.

Role involves split time between project sites and the Nashville laboratory, with training provided to obtain necessary industry certifications. Prior experience is preferred but not required; strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform testing calculations accurately.
• Willingness to learn and obtain industry certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt per ASTM/AASHTO standards.
• Prepare data sheets, calculations, and reports for Project Managers.
• Operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment and assist with calibration.
• Conduct field testing and observation at project sites; collect samples and document results.
• Maintain organized lab and project documentation and support quality control meetings.
