Job summary

Terracon seeks a field/lab testing technician to perform testing and inspection of construction materials on-site in Texas. You will communicate findings to the Project Manager, transport samples to the lab, and prepare daily reports while maintaining safety and equipment.

Training will progressively increase responsibilities. The role requires a high school diploma, at least 6 months of experience, and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months of field or testing experience.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history.
• Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel).
• Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor’s representative and others regarding testing requirements and results.
• Transport material samples to the laboratory for testing and analysis.
• Prepare and submit data and observations in reports for daily transmittal to the Terracon Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment and work areas.
• May assist with scheduling Technicians to project sites.
• Adhere to strict safety standards.

Education
