Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Construction Materials Technician for a permanent on-site role in Exton, PA. The technician performs field and laboratory testing of construction materials including concrete, soils, and aggregates, and conducts concrete inspections to ensure compliance with project specs and industry standards.

Responsibilities include operating nuclear gauge equipment safely, documenting procedures and results, and communicating findings to project teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction materials testing (CMT) in field and/or lab settings.
• Hands-on experience conducting concrete inspections on active projects.
• Ability to operate nuclear gauge equipment safely and accurately for soil density/moisture tests.
• Working knowledge of civil and structural construction materials.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow testing protocols.
• Effective communication of test results to project teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory testing of construction materials (concrete, soils, aggregates) per standards.
• Conduct concrete inspections to verify mix design, placement, finishing, and curing.
• Operate nuclear gauge equipment safely and accurately for soil density/moisture testing.
• Document test procedures, results and observations for project records.
• Maintain testing equipment and report issues promptly.
• Communicate findings and quality concerns to project teams.
