Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 in the Scarborough, ME area. Working under a Foreman or Superintendent, you will oversee a small crew and perform installation, alteration and repair of electrical systems with a focus on safety and quality.

You will have opportunities to learn and grow in other divisions such as low voltage and controls while developing skills reading project drawings, blueprints, and schematics on commercial/industrial jobs.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial settings.
• Able to use company required tools.
• Demonstrate Amteck Way in daily work and decisions.
• Able to work weekends and overtime.
• Willingness to learn on-the-job.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panel boards, branch circuits.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of circuiting.
• Read and understand project specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
• Layout small areas of work from electrical drawings and project documents, including underground layout.
• Correctly determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and general power circuits.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
