Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a hands-on IT Field Technician to support technology deployments, low-voltage cabling projects, and on-site technical support activities in Knoxville, TN. Travel to customer sites and work in varied environments are required to install, troubleshoot, and roll out technology solutions.

The role emphasizes cabling, networking basics, hardware deployment, and safe use of power and hand tools.

Qualifications

Experience installing and terminating low-voltage cabling.
Ability to read blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams.
Basic understanding of networking concepts and hardware connectivity.

Responsibilities

Install, pull, route, and terminate low-voltage cabling including Ethernet, data, and phone lines.
Configure and connect networking equipment including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
Deploy, install, and troubleshoot desktops, printers, POS systems, and other end-user technology.
Maintain accurate documentation of installations and project progress.
Follow safety guidelines and company standards at customer sites.
